Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream Blush

Fenty Beauty Cheeks out Cream Blush

Overall: I am a big fan of cream blushes – a really big fan, as evidenced by a massive collection that I am pretty sure I won’t finish for a few decades. I say this to point out that when I buy five different shades of the same formula for a cream blush, it is either because I really love the formula, or the colors are outstanding and unique. These Fenty Cheeks Out Cream Blushes have a bit of both. Before I discuss their different aspects in detail, my overall verdict is this: If you are someone who think cheeks should be dewy – the dewier the better – you would probably love these. If you are someone who is generally afraid of heavily pigmented blushes, fear not – these sheer out beautifully. I love them! (The colors I chose were those I generally prefer to wear for my skin tone.)

Formula and Application: These are creamy. They have an emollient consistency but not a heavy emollience – more like a gel-balm like texture. I like applying them with my fingers because I find that the warmth from my fingers makes the finish really dewy. I have tried them with a brush and the finish is just as beautiful but perhaps not as dewy as with fingers – which is good if you don’t like very dewy cheeks. So on the days that I feel particularly oily, I can use a brush with these. They blend out easily.

Lasting Power: These lasted a good 7-8 hours on my cheeks. I felt that they tended to become a little warmer in tone as the day went on.

Packaging: I have a thing for miniatures of just about anything and these look a little like miniature blushes. I almost never get through cream blush though and so for me, this is a good size – they won’t go bad before I can use them up. The palettes are white octagons with a magic marker-like scribbling of the word “Cream” on the top. Cute – made to look cuter because they are itty-bitty.

Color/Pigment: Overall, these may look very pigmented in the pans, but are quite sheer upon touch. These swatches are heavy - they sheer out easily.

Individually:

Today, I wore Crush on Cupid with bright orange-red lips and a bit of highlighter and felt happy all day just looking at my cheeks!

Today’s look: Ilia Super Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Foundation in 06 Ora; Dose of Colors Highlighter in Bathe (limited edition); By Terry Lip Powder Essence in No.4 Red Carpet, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate; Natasha Denona in Burnt Terracotta/Green

Overall, I love these blushes – I have five so far and may end up getting them all! Daiquiri Dip is next on my list. I would love to hear what you thought about them if you’ve tried them, and would be happy to answer any questions if you haven’t and are considering them. Let me know in the comments!
